Dr. Sylvia Deganus is a fulfilled Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and Public Health physician with over 27 years of experience in safe motherhood and in other Reproductive health issues. She is a national and international reproductive health researcher and trainer and have assisted in various research in the development of numerous national and international safe motherhood and reproductive health policy documents, service delivery guidelines, training tools and materials.
In the field of mobile health, she has been working with WHO/AFRO and GLOWM in the development of a Mother Initiative; a mobile phone based tool, which seeks to facilitate the monitoring and care of pregnant women in low resource settings. Her skills and experiences have been shared with various international agencies such as the WHO, UNFPA, WAHO, USAID, PRIME II, JHPIEGO Corporation, IPAS and FHI for whom she has worked for on many occasions as consultant. She is a tireless advocate for quality maternal and Neonatal Care.
